Ada beberapa cara untuk membuat macros yang kita buat berjalan secara otomatis ketika pertama kali membukaworkbook. Yang pertama adalah Auto Open Method, yang diletakkan di modules, kedua adalah Workbook Open Method, yang diletakkan di pada obyek Workbook (lihat penjelasan pada langkah 3).
